Internal Progress in 2024

Living Our Values

The Board recruited three new members in 2024—Allen Paul Booker, Dr. Marie A. Cannon, and Dr. Jacqueline Hall—to better reflect the communities the Tower Foundation serves.

While appreciating the experience and wisdom of longstanding Board members, the Foundation recognized the need to invite new voices to the table. These new Trustees diversify the identities reflected on the Board, bringing deep experience in government service, youth-focused programming, nonprofit leadership, and workforce development.

All board members commit to guiding the Tower Foundation through an evolving landscape. Board members continually learn about the issues facing young people living with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders.

The combined strength of the Board’s experience, learning, and insights helps Tower improve the lives of young people and their families.

In Memoriam

As we look forward 2025 and beyond, we celebrate the life and contributions of longtime board member James “Jim” Weiss, who died in August 2025. Jim dedicated his career to creating access to educational opportunities so that young people in his home state of Massachusetts could thrive. Through his board service, Jim helped advance the Tower Foundation’s efforts to improve the lives of youth and adolescents.

We will keep Jim’s dedication to empowering young people to reach their full potential at the center of our work.
